VERTZAMI – CABERNET FRANC
GRAPES/VARIETIES: 60 % Vertzami, 40% Cabernet Franc
VINEYARD: In the region of Alexandros, in the department of Lefkas vines are cultivated at an altitude of 300m. The soil is a complex of sand, clay and lime and the production about 700Kg per strema.
In the region of Vasiliko, in the department of Achaia vines are cultivated at an altitude of 150m. The soil is also a complex of sand, clay and lime and the production about 900Kg per strema.
VINTAGE: Middle September with a sugar concentration of 200g/L for Vertzami and late September with a sugar concentration of 230g/L for Cabernet Franc.
WINE: Deep purple red colour with vivid violet hints, aromas of pine, green pepper, tangerine, laurel, cinnamon, vanilla on the nose. Full bodied, stout, kind of aggressive when it is still young, strong in the mouth, giving a lot of promises for the future.
Serve at 18°C with many traditional Greek plates like hare stewed with onions, lamb in the oven, grilled sheep's entrails, veal cooked with spices.
With an excellent storage it can be enjoyed for eight more years from the vintage.
